I was really obsessed with this song at the same time as teaching a fundamentals of art summer camp. We did a project where we drew human skulls in different mediums, focusing on the shading etc. The kids were older and really excited by the project, which inspired me to really push the concept.
The worms just sort of happened as a consequence of me wanting to show the kids different ways they could spice up their skulls. Once I realized I had obviously been influenced by my listening habits, an idea was born. The very idea you're looking at now actually.
