(Crow-Style) Scrapbook
It took me awhile to consider myself an artist, and one of the reasons is probably because drawing is far from my favorite medium. . . Once I began to realize/legitimize for myself that all mediums "count" I began to really blossom as an artist. A huge stepping stone on that journey has been my personal scrapbook.
The best way I could describe this project is essentially a diary collage. A genius artist in my area had the idea of repurposing old books into small books perfect for mixed-media projects of the sort, and during the holiday season of 2019 I finally got myself one.

Funny enough, mine is actually bear themed. . .

Not only do I love this project because so many of the pieces are so emotionally raw and important to me, the book itself has taught me a lot of lessons. Many of the pages are out of order. I took years-long gaps in working on it, but I still came back. That took a courage I was actively building up at points. I've seen my artistic style grow through this project as well.

This page was made with the cover of my dearly beloved slingshot planner when the year ended

Now I'm at the point where I only have a few pages left and the fear of finally having to close this project for good has me in a freeze state. Once art school is over I'm hopeful that I'll start to fill them up.

tada!↩
