Howdy, and welcome to a piece of my inner world :)

As a person with all-caps ADHD I frequently find myself wearing many hats. Currently I am an art teacher, student, writer, person with epilepsy, model, wife, and cat parent. Outside of making all sorts of art I also love biking and playing video games.

I’m hoping this blog will give an equal part enlightening and mysterious view into my creative process. My biggest goal in sharing my art is to help others get in touch with their own artistic spirit, and begin to imagine a creative practice that feels natural to them. I firmly believe everyone is an artist, some people just have too strict a definition of “art”. This space exists in part to help loosen those definitions.

Artist Statement

The themes of nature and curiosity/play are common in my work. The mediums I engage with frequently also share this frenetic childlike quality, like collage and bold gestural figurative work. From materials like chalk and soft pastel to found objects whimsy is at the forefront of many pieces even when the subject matter tends to be heavier.

I often use recycled materials both to support the idea that art is everywhere you look as well as to reduce the environmental impact of my creative process. Many of my pieces are tactile, which I find helps engage creative thought and an innate desire for play. Almost all of my work can be considered mixed media, often incorporating drawn or painted elements with handwritten pieces into 3D storytelling arrangements.
